NAV data includes GPS (Global Positioning System) measurements of latitude, longitude, ship's direction and speed. MET data includes atmospheric temperature, humidity and pressure, wind speed and direction, and incident radiation intensity. Processing_comments = A number of discrepancies between the port and starboard air temperature sensors were noted (differences of about 1-2 degrees). A number of rapid temperature increases were noted for both port and starboard temperature sensors. There are some suspect NAV and TSG data present due to the port stop at Latouka on 07-Jul-2009 UTC , these were taken out. The depth data was re-picked using Sonar Datas Echoview software. A conductivity lag correction factor was used as part of TSG calibration. The directional interpolation algorithms for windDir, uncorrWindDir, IMOSWindDir, IMOSMaxWindGustDir, IMOSUncorrWindDir, shipHeading, courseOG was suspect whereby when the direction oscillates around 0 and 360 degrees the interpolated value was calculated incorrectly. Therefore windDirQC, uncorrWindDirQC, IMOSWindDirQC, IMOSMaxWindGustDirQC, IMOSUncorrWindDirQC, shipHeadingQC, courseOGQC QC flags have been left in their original state of (noQC,none,preliminary). This dataset contains the Underway (UWY) data collected on Southern Surveyor voyage SS2009_V03. The voyage took place in the Western Pacific ocean between 3rd and 26th July 2009.
