Brief description

In Oct. 1992 Lands SA and the environment components of the Department of Environment and Planning merged to form the Department of Environment and Land Management, which in late 1993 became the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. In 1997 it became the Department for Environment, Heritage and Aboriginal Affairs, until 1999 when it became the Department for Environment and Heritage. In 2010 it became for the second time (previously 1993-1997) the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. On 1 July 2012 the Department for Water and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources amalgamated to form the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR) to bring together environment and natural resources management in South Australia. Works by these bodies are found under the name used at the time of publication.
