South Australia's water sources include: the River Murray, surface water, seawater and groundwater. Water quality is much more than just how water looks, tastes and smells (though these are important). It is also an issue of public health. Keeping the quality of our water consistent as it moves through our water mains is no simple feat. SA Water manages 42 water treatment plants. These plants remove impurities, filter the water and disinfect it so it is safe to drink. Water Quality data is produced from analysing 250,000 water samples each year. It is collected from a variety of locations, from catchment to tap across metropolitan and rural South Australia which can be searched by postcode. Samples collected are tested on the field and in the lab by highly trained staff for quality assurance. The monitoring program is very large. It enables us to assure the quality of our product. The program includes both field and laboratory tests. Trained field staff collect samples, so we know they are taken correctly and are of high quality. SA Water laboratory analyses are carried out by the Australian Water Quality Centre (AWQC). The AWQC's tests are run in line with ISO 9001 Quality Systems and the requirements of the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA). SA Water consistently meets national water quality targets. This data is produced from 1250 customer tap locations across metropolitan and rural South Australia. Sample results can be searched by suburb or post code to display average results for a number of parameters for each of SA Water's potable supply systems. Brief description

This data is produced from 1250 customer tap locations across metropolitan and rural South Australia. Sample results can be searched by suburb or post code to display average results for a number of parameters for each of SA Water's potable supply systems. SA Water laboratories analyses are carried out by the Australian Water Quality Centre (AWQC). Samples collected are tested in the field and in the lab by highly trained staff for quality assurance. The AWQC's tests are run in line with ISO 9001 Quality Systems and the requirements for the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA).
