Brief description

The Soils-to-Satellites (S2S) tool enables researchers to explore and display relationships between disconnected data sets in ways not previously experienced.  They are able to select and display spatial layers of Australian environmental data such as elevation, temperature or fractional cover, from the Atlas of Living Australia(ALA) along with field data from specific TERN AusPlots sites and then drill down to view and compare the vegetation and soils data with the environmental layer data at those sites. Users can then extract the data from across the combined datasets.

The Soils to Satellites tool re-uses and extends existing infrastructure and functionality provided by the ALA's open infrastructure and TERN Eco-informatics AEKOS platform.

More information on S2S can be found on the project blog
