Brief description Mental disorders such as anxiety and depression are more common among people who are socially disadvantaged (eg, living in poverty, welfare recipients, lone parents). This project seeks to understand why disadvantaged groups are more likely to have mental health problems, explores social differences in access to mental health services, and develops methods to reduce mental health problems that take account of these social differences and promotes greater fairness and equity.
