Converted from the Beta Bolong South, Jarrahmond, Newmerella and Orbost East Drainage Areas into a river improvement trust under the River Improvement Act and Gazetted 4 April 1951.The Trust ceased to operate in 1997 with the advent of the East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority VA 4225.
