Brief description We have found that around one in four adults in rural India have hypertension and a minority of these receive best practice care. Current health system infrastructure is grossly under-resourced to address this. We aim to improve hypertension management by strengthening primary health care workforce capacity through use of a smartphone based clinical decision support system that is integrated with existing health structures. This will be evaluated in a trial involving 45 villages in rural Andhra Pradesh.
