Brief description
SILO (Scientific Information for Land Owners) is a daily time series of meteorological data at point locations, consisting of station records which have been supplemented by interpolated estimates where observed data are missing.Patched Point Datasets for Queensland are available free of charge. To qualify for free access, the user must first register with SILO. For further information about SILO and registration, see the [SILO webpage](http://www.longpaddock.qld.gov.au/silo).

SILO Help - Provides advice on how to use these tools. No username or password is required.Search by station name - Provides a list of stations with names that match the name fragment specified. No username or password is required. \r\n \r\n**Available variables** \r\n- **nameFrag** (required): The text that is being searched for in the station name. \r\n \r\n**Example** \r\nThe example below is querying stations with "brisbane" in their name; the user should substitute the station name of interest. \r\nhttps://www.longpaddock.qld.gov.au/cgi-bin/silo/PatchedPointDataset.php?format=name&nameFrag=brisbane
List stations near another station - Provides a list of stations near the specified station. No username or password is required. \r\n \r\n**Available variables** \r\n- **station** (required): The Bureau of Meteorology numerical code identifying the station of interest. \r\n- **radius** (required): The distance in kilometers. \r\n- **sortby** (optional): The field in which to sort the results by. The values should be one of name, code or dist. \r\n \r\n**Example** \r\nThe example is querying stations within a 100 km radius of station 30068; the user should substitute the station and search radius as required. \r\nhttps://www.longpaddock.qld.gov.au/cgi-bin/silo/PatchedPointDataset.php?format=near&station=30068&radius=100
Report station details - Provides the name of the station specified, as well as the latitude, longitude and elevation. Patched point data - Obtain patched point data for the given station and period, in the specified format. A username and password is required. To register, visit the SILO webpage: http://www.longpaddock.qld.gov.au/silo. \r\n \r\n**Available variables** \r\n- **station** (required): The Bureau of Meteorology numerical code identifying the station of interest. \r\n- **start** (required): Start date in the format yyyymmdd. \r\n- **finish** (required): End date in the format yyyymmdd. \r\n- **username** (required): Username obtained when you registered with SILO. \r\n- **password** (required): Password associated with the username above. \r\n \r\n**Example** \r\nThe example is requesting data in "alldata" format for station "12345 " over the period 1 Jan 2011 - 10 Jan 2011; the user should substitute the station code, data format, period and username/password as required. https://www.longpaddock.qld.gov.au/cgi-bin/silo/PatchedPointDataset.php?format=alldata&station=12345&start=20110101&finish=20110110&username=sample&password=sample \r\n \r\nThe data will be displayed in your browser without line breaks.
