This data relates directly to the following publication. Detailed descriptions of the testing protocol, data collection procedures, and post-processing methods can be found within the manuscript. Numbering of specimens, tests, and sonomicrometry crystals in this dataset is consistent with the published manuscript.

For each specimen (S1-S3) four files are included:

CT_Derived_Coordinates_AnatomicalCS.xlxs: describes the position of sonomicrometry crystals, sensor array landmarks, and anatomical features of the head, obtained from CT scans, and transformed to the anatomical coordinate system. Data from each CT session is included in separate sheets. For each specimen the number of CT scans was equal to the number of tests +1. With CTx and CTx+1 being the pre and post-test CTs for test x, respectively.

CT_Derived_Coordinates_ArrayCS.xlxs: describes the position of sonomicrometry crystals, sensor array landmarks, and anatomical features of the head, obtained from CT scans, and transformed to the array coordinate system. Together with the CT_Derived_Coordinates_AnatomicalCS.xlxs, coordinate transform from the array to the anatomical coordinate system could be recreated. Data from each CT session is included in separate sheets. For each specimen the number of CT scans was equal to the number of tests +1. With CTx and CTx+1 being the pre and post-test CTs for test x, respectively.

BrainCrystalPosition_vs_time_AnatomicalCS.xlxs: describes the 3D position of the brain embedded sonomicrometry crystals (labelled as R1, R2, etc.) at all time points over the head rotation events. Data from each test is include in separate sheets. 3D sonomicrometry crystal positions are in the anatomical coordinate system. Head kinematics and brain crystal position data is synced about time 0, representing the start of head motion.

HeadKinematics_AnatomicalCS.xlxs: describes the kinematics of the head at all time points over the head rotation event. Note, the time array from this data is not equivalent to the time array from the corresponding test of the BrainCrystalPosition_vs_time_AnatomicalCS.xlxs due to different sampling rates of the data acquisition systems. Head kinematics and brain crystal position data is synced about time 0, representing the start of head motion. Data from each test is included in its own sheet.
