Self-management of diabetes by people in Indonesia: a grounded theory study

This study aimed to generate a theory about the process of how people with diabetes learn about their disease in the Indonesian context. Data collection involved twenty-eight semi-structured interviews with twenty-six participants. The participants included people with diabetes, healthcare professionals, healthcare providers and families. The data was collected during three phases of the study between April 2016 and July 2017. All interviews were conducted in the Indonesian language and thus the process of data analysis involved both English and Indonesian languages.

Notes

Data consists of 4 zip files and the interview guide in PDF format. The zip files include:

First data gathering.zip - contains concept maps (JPEG, PDF and MS Word formats), memos (PDF and MS Word formats), audio recordings (MP3 format), consent form (PDF format) and transcripts (MS Word format)

Second data gathering.zip - contains concept maps (JPEG format), memos (PDF and MS Word formats), audio recordings (MP3 format), NVivo project (.nvp format), consent form (PDF format) and transcripts (MS Word format)

Third data gathering.zip - contains concept maps (Powerpoint, JPEG and PNG formats), memo (PDF format), audio recordings (MP3 and MPEG-4 formats), consent form (PDF format), field notes (MS Word format) and transcript (MS Word format)

NVIVO files.zip - contains 13 Nvivo project files (.nvp format) and 3 SQL server database transaction log files (.ldf format). Some of the NVivo files are labelled damaged or recovered but undamaged files are available in the folder.

MS Word documents have also been saved in PDF format and stored in similarly named zip files for preservation purposes.
