Statement: Sediment organic carbon assessments within Posidonia australis transplant plots and compared to adjacent bare sand and healthy meadows. Transplant plots were 25 m2 in area and sediment organic carbon samples were taken from Middle Bluff, Shark Bay (restoration plots were 8, 26 and 30 months old) and Dubaut Point, Shark Bay (restoration plots were 8, 26 and 30 months old), Useless Loop at 3, 5 and 7m depth within restoration plots that were 60 months old. Sediment organic carbon samples were extracted by using a 50ml syringe with wide opening to draw up surface sediments to a depth of 3cm. Three replicate samples were taken from each combination of site x time x habitat. Organic carbon was quantified from before and after samples after they were processed by Loss on Ignition (dried at 550 degrees Celsius).
