Brief description
This data encompasses a set of biochemical parameter (iron, macronutrients, Chlorophyll-a, particulate organic matter and particulate exopolysaccharides) measured within East Antarctic first-year land-fast and pack sea ice from nine stations sampled along the Wilkes Land and King George V Land Coast during austral mid-late summer 2016/17.This dataset supports the manuscript entitled "Iron distribution in East Antarctic summer sea ice: a potential contribution from glacial basal melt." to be submitted to the Journal of Geophysical Research on Jan/2020 by Luis Paulo Duprat and co-authors.

PurposeThis dataset describes the basis of the iron biogeochemistry (both in the dissolved and particulate fraction) and other key biological parameters within first-year sea ice. It enlarges the present body of sea-ice biogeochemical data obtained from coring and could further be used for modelling purposes.
Data time period: 2016-12-19 to 2017-01-13
