Brief description
This record describes the End of Voyage (EOV) archive from the Marine National Facility (MNF) RV Investigator research voyage in2017_c02, titled "RAN Hydrographic Survey." The voyage took place from Hobart (TAS) to Bell Bay (TAS) between May 4 and May 15, 2017.For further information refer to the Voyage documentation links below.
Instruments used and data collected include:
Regular measurements:
Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP; 75), Multibeam Echosounder (EM710, EM122, EM2040c), Sub-bottom Profiler (SBP120), Gravimeter, GPS Positioning System, Doppler Velocity Log, Ultra Short BaseLine Underwater Positioning System (USBL), Radon, Ozone and Oxygen sensors, Weather Radar, Greenhouse Gas Analysers (Aerodyne, Picarro), Air Pressure, Wind Speed and Direction sensors, Thermosalinographs.
Voyage-specific measurements:
Cloud Condensation Nuclei counter (CCN), Disdrometer, Nephelometer, pCO2, Secchi disk, Sound Velocity Profile (SVP), Video.
The archive for the IN2017_C02 EOV raw data is curated by the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere (O&A) Information and Data Centre (IDC) in Hobart, with a permanent archive at the CSIRO Data Access Portal (DAP, https://data.csiro.au/dap/), providing access to participants and processors of the data collected in the voyage.
All voyage documentation is available electronically to MNF support via the local network. Access to voyage documentation for non-CSIRO participants can be made via [email protected].
Lineage: Original field data. The raw EOV data archive was transferred from the vessel and archived at the O&A IDC in Hobart.
A final manifest file for the final archive was generated (in2017_c02_manifest_1.0_rawVoyage_cs.txt).
Available paper documents are scanned to 400 dpi PDF and stored at the IDC record storage system. ELOG files are generated as csv-formatted files and archived.
Note: this is the first voyage for which weather radar NetCDF files have been excluded from the Data Centre backup copy of the ship tape due to storage considerations. The raw weather radar data is still in the dataset; only the NetCDF version is absent. The Data Access Portal will hold the complete dataset.
