Only narrowband mode was used after calibrations were completed, so data collected in broadband mode were not processed. Full description

This record describes the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) data collected from the Marine National Facility RV Investigator voyage IN2024_V04, titled: "Linking East Australian Current dynamics and submarine canyon geomorphology to marine ecosystem hotspots." The voyage took place between June 07, 2024 and July 03, 2024 (AEST), departing from Sydney and returning to Brisbane.

The ADCP was run for most of the voyage, though it was turned off when EK80 surveys were being performed to avoid creating interference in the EK80 data.
ADCP data were collected using the University of Hawaii Data Acquisition System (UHDAS) and post-processed using the Common Ocean Data Access System (CODAS).
The RDI Ocean Surveyor 150kHz ADCP and RDI Ocean Surveyor 75kHz ADCP were run in narrowband mode for the bulk of the voyage.
Internal triggering was used.
The drop keel was set at 2m below the hull for the duration of the voyage. The nominal transducer depth is set to 6 meters, any additional changes will need to be applied by the user if they believe it is required.
Bottom tracking was run for the first hour of the voyage on the OS150nb to aid in calibrations.
A new OS75 ADCP was installed during the port period prior to this voyage (IN2024_P04) to replace the previous instrument. Calibration of the new OS75 was performed at the start of the voyage. The calibration required the ship to traverse east to west, then west to east at 4, 7 and 10 knots. This was then repeated north to south and south to north. The OS75 and OS150 recorded in broadband and narrowband during this time. Partners at University of Hawaii then used the data to calculate the transducer offset and provide calibration configuration. Only narrowband mode was used after calibrations were completed, so data collected in broadband mode were not processed.

This dataset was processed (quality-controlled), and then archived by the CSIRO National Collections and Marine Infrastructure (NCMI) Information and Data Centre (IDC).
