Brief description This proposal aims to shed light on the molecular mechanisms underpinning the health-promoting effects of exercise. This proposal will focus on defining how reactive oxygen species contribute to exercise-induced adaptive responses in muscle that promote metabolic health and prevent the age-related decline in muscle function. Our studies will shed light on mechanisms that help prevent disease in our increasingly sedentary and ageing populations.
