Most sample have been collected from Geoscience Australia's geological mapping, however there are also samples from other organisations, particularly universities. The sample information includes analysis results, the location of the sample and a brief geological description which may include the name of the unit sampled. Most sites are accurate to within 100m, a few have accuracies greater than 100m.
