Ripple Vale Primary School (School No. 4125; previously known as Ripple Vale State School 1922 – c.1970)

Ripple Vale State School (School No. 4125) (VA 830) was a co-educational primary school located in the town of Rickett’s Marsh, near Birregurra. 

The school first opened in 1922 as Ripple Vale State School, named after the Ripple Vale property on which the school was located. It was situated on Conns Lane, near the corner of Cape Otway Road. The school building provided had previously been used for Armytage State School (School No. 3775), which had operated in the same region from 1913 to 1921, and was relocated for use at Ripple Vale. 

On 22 February 1964, a new building was opened and the original building was demolished. 

In 1970, there was a statewide decision to change the use of the term ‘State School’ to refer to all primary, secondary and technical schools instead of just primary schools, and for all primary schools to use ‘Primary School’ in the name. Accordingly, the school name was changed to Ripple Vale Primary School. 

Ripple Vale Primary School became unstaffed in 1979 and subsequently closed. 

The school and area may sometimes be stylised as Ripplevale instead of Ripple Vale.
