The recommended route option is located within the corridor identified in 2013 by DPIE and Camden Council for future development.\r\nThe key features of the upgrade would include: ? \r\n* widening Rickard Road and providing a kerbside bus lane in each direction \r\n* off-road pedestrian and cyclist pathways \r\n* intersection upgrades with traffic lights and designated turning lanes ? \r\n* bicycle and pedestrian crossing at traffic lights.\r\nIn June 2020, TfNSW consulted with the community on the recommended option for the proposed upgrade and extension in this section. See Attachment A ‘Community Update’, including a map and further information.\r\nThe consultation period on the recommended option was held between 8 June and 3 July 2020. TfNSW received 24 submissions from the community in response to the display of the preferred option. Rickard Road between Bringelly Road, Leppington and Oran Park Drive, Catherine Field is proposed to be upgraded. On behalf of the Department of Planning, Infrastructure and Environment (DPIE), Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is investigating an upgrade and extension of Rickard Road for the section between Heath Road and Springfield Road.
