Restoring Murray River Riparian Landscapes

Brief description

The Green Army Team will improve environmental values, public safety and access to Victorian Murray River frontage and priority wetlands on public land between Wemen and Abbotsford Bend at Yelta, covering a distance of approximately 300 kilometres. This project provides the opportunity for 17-24 year olds to gain practical experience in natural resource management by undertaking works at these priority sites, with activities to include weed control, pest animal management, revegetation, rubbish removal and cultural heritage protection. These on-site activities will be complemented by the provision of relevant training in conservation and land management.
