Scientists of the Department in collaboration with the Western Australian Abalone Industry Association are planning to investigate the growth, survival and maturity of seeded juvenile abalone on reefs varying in habitat structure and food availability. The effect of age and density at release will also be investigated. Surveys are planned every 6-month to assess the impact of seeded juvenile abalone on algal cover and the density of selected key invertebrate species.
