Brief description

This dataset is part of an overall study of the impacts of industrial waste on Cockburn Sound. This dataset describes the impact of waste on seagrass growth. The length and width of seagrass fronds from 1 ft2 quadrats from 15 plot sampling transects (see thumbnail) were measured in Cockburn Sound. The regrowth of seagrasses were measured from 1 m2 from the same transects.

Statement: Plot sampling transects were set up at 15 locations around the Cockburn Sound (see thumbnail). A metal picket was driven into the bottom to mark the beginning of the transect. Plots were then cut along the transect line with the number of plots determined by variability of the seagrass and slope of the meadow. It is plotless (random) sampling from Southern Flats. Data parameters: length (cm), width (mm).
