Brief description Medicare Locals are established to coordinate PHC delivery and tackle local health needs and service gaps. This study will examine the extent to which Medicare Locals consider and respond to health needs of those most in need e.g. Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islanders, new migrants/refugees and people with mental illnesses, and address the social factors affecting peoples’ life. The study will explore stakeholders’ perceptions to improve the capacity of Medicare Locals in achieving its goals.
