Full description
High resolution XRF images as supplementary material to "Reaction coronas at olivine-plagioclase contacts in host rocks from the Nova-Bollinger Ni-Cu-Co deposit, Albany-Fraser Orogen, Western Australia: evidence of a magmatic to metamorphic continuum" submitted to Journal of Petrology, 2021Lineage: The data was collected by microbeam X-ray fluorescence (XRF) mapping on the X-ray fluorescence microscopy (XFM) beamline at the Australian Synchrotron using a combination of low (7050 eV) and high input energy (18500 eV) scans using a Maia Detector. Scans were made using a 2 um spot size, a 4 um raster and with approximate elemental detection limits in the 50-100 ppm range (lower for heavier elements). Data were processed from raw spectra using the Dynamic Analysis method within the GeoPIXE software. Results are presented as combinations of false-colour RGB three element stacks (with each of three elements in the red, green and blue channels) and as single-element concentration maps.
