Full description

This project recorded olfactory behaviours of juvenile Acanthochromis polyacanthus that were held in either control or high CO2 conditions for 15 days. Behaviour tests occurred on day 16, where response to chemical alarm cue (CAC) was recorded. All juveniles tested were siblings. Ten fish were tested per treatment.

Fish were introduced to the y-maze flume, centered in the flume, given a 2-minute acclimitization period, followed by 2 minutes where the position of the head was recorded every 5 seconds. Incoming water streams were then switched for 1 minute, after which the fish was recentered in the flume. The 2-minute acclimitization and 2-minute trial were then repeated.

Raw data is provided and is displayed in bar graph and box plot format. Standard errors are marked on the bar graph.

Notes

Raw data is available as a spreadsheet saved in MS Excel (.xlsx) and Open Document formats (.ods). Data visualisations (bar graph and box plot) are in PDF format. 20 video files (MP4 format) are available from the link provided in the Data tab.
