The organisational structures change in a fast pace in these days due to market changes, restructures, mergers, forming alliances and flexible work patterns of employees. These changes require their networks also to be realigned at the same pace. Moving the network configuration and management to cloud service providers is also a new tread in modern organisations. In this climate, an expensive and time-consuming design approach such as the Top-down design approach may not be the best option.
In this proposed research project, it is suggested that the commonly used network design methodologies such as Top-down network design methodology should be revisited and analysed, and a rapid network design methodology that can still satisfy the evolving business and technical requirements should be developed.
