Brief description There is enormous ongoing debate about whether cutting salt out of the diet can reduce the risks of stroke and heart attack. The reason for this is that no high quality, large study of the effects of salt reduction has yet been completed. Our world first project will fill this gap by studying more than 700,000 people over a four year period. Half will eat less salt, half will continue with their usual diets and the effects on key health outcomes will be recorded.
