Full description
In July 1898, School No. 3313 – known as Rainbow Rise or Rainbow State School - was established in a public hall in Rainbow, North-West Victoria. It functioned on a half-time basis alongside Werrap State School until 1901, when Rainbow Rise moved to a recently completed hall within the township and began operating as a full-time school. In 1905 the school moved to a new site, and in 1919 became Rainbow Higher Elementary School in response to growing demand for higher education. In 1959 the school split, becoming Rainbow Primary School and Rainbow High School (later Rainbow Secondary College, School No. 8255).
Rainbow Primary School continued to develop and expand as the town grew. In 2011 the primary school was co-located with Rainbow Secondary College (School No. 8255), before the schools merged in 2014 to become Rainbow P-12 College (School No. 8256).
Rainbow P-12 College officially opened in 2015, with 120 students coming from Rainbow and the surrounding districts, including Jeparit, Yaapeet and Beulah.
