Full description
Abundance counts by taxon of radiolaria from six Eastern Indian Ocean core samples dated to the last glacial maximum. The samples were selected because they were also used for the estimatation of sea-surface temperature by Barrows and Juggins (2005) and thus could provide some confirmation of the estimates made using the radiolarian transfer function.Lineage
Maintenance and Update Frequency: irregular
Statement: Radiolaria were isolated by digestion in 10% HCl, followed by filtration through a 63um filter. Slide sample were examined under x100 magnification (or greater if required).
Parameters: Core code, core latitude (decimal), core longitude (decimal), depth of seabed (m), depth of last glacial maximum in core (cm), observed radiolaria taxa, raw counts of each species in each sample, sample totals.
