The Quickbird Images processed are 03FEB25231438-P2AS-000000041916_01_P002, 03FEB25231439-M2AS-000000041916_01_P002, 03FEB25231437-P2AS-000000041916_01_P001 and 03FEB25231438-M2AS-000000041916_01_P001. The orientation parameters were derived from the Quickbird image header information and supplementary ground control data provided by the AADC was used to reference the images. The control was derived from a survey by Paul Boland (DPIWE Tasmania) in March 2003 and walking track data, located using GPS. The accuracy of the control is +/- 1.2m where good detail could be seen and the survey information was used. However it is only +/- 5 to 6 m where control was derived from the walking tracks. The overall adjustment is therefore +/- 6m. ERDAS Imagine OrthoBase Pro was used to orient the imagery using the control. Ortho rectified images were produced using the control and a DEM supplied by the AADC. Further information relating to the control and DEM can be obtained from: Macquarie Island Survey Control Paul Boland (DPIWE surveyor) Field Trip to Macquarie Island in March 2003; Macquarie Island Route GIS Dataset metadata record; Macquarie Island AIRSAR DEM (Digital Elevation Model) metadata record. Multispectral Quickbird images have a pixel resolution of 2.4m while the pan image has a resolution of 0.6m. These images were combined to produce a higher resolution colour image known as a pan sharpened image. To produce the pan sharpened image the following parameters were used: Method - Brovey Transform, Resampling Technique - Cubic Convolution, Data Type - Unsigned 16 bit. The pixel resolution of the mosaiced image is 0.6m. The image is stored in a UTM Zone 57 (WGS84) map projection.&rft.creator=Brolsma, H. &rft.creator=BROLSMA, HENK &rft.date=2003&rft.coverage=westlimit=158.81; southlimit=-54.56; eastlimit=158.95; northlimit=-54.48&rft.coverage=westlimit=158.81; southlimit=-54.56; eastlimit=158.95; northlimit=-54.48&rft_rights=Contact the AADC for access to the data.
