Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation Limited (QCIF) provides the
- Expert informatics consultancy services
- High performance digital infrastructure and support
- Collaboration environment and skills development
needed for researchers and research communities to achieve excellence in compute and data-driven research and its application to industry.
QCIF is a not-for-profit public company limited-by-guarantee. It operates with its regional, national and international members and partners delivering services to research throughout Queensland and increasingly via Commonwealth programs to the nation.
QCIF represents a consortium of six Queensland universities: The University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, Griffith University, James Cook University, CQUniversity, and the University of Southern Queensland. The University of the Sunshine Coast is an associate member.
QCIF provides researchers with access to QRIScloud, its large-scale cloud computing and data storage service. QRIScloud forms the Queensland component of the national eResearch infrastructure funded through the Nectar and RDS Projects.
QCIF’s members contribute large numbers of valuable data collections for storage on QRIScloud and use by future research. A full list of public data collections currently held on QRIScloud can be viewed through the QRIScloud portal and are discoverable through Research Data Australia.
