The Queensland basemap web services are designed for use as a background reference layers in applications where the user’s data will take preference.

Queensland Imagery Whole Of State Satellite Public Basemap Service - This basemap service displays a visually-enhanced mosaic of high resolution, authoritative, general reference imagery captured by CubeSat satellite space-crafts (Planet Labs Incorporated) over areas of Queensland. This service is designed to provide a performance imagery basemap (on demand cache) for clients that don’t support cached/tiled services.\r\n\r\nThis 2.4 metre resolution, orthorectified, visual mosaic product was originally acquired by Planet during 2017 Quarter 3, under the QSat initiative. The mosaic is made visually appealing for a wide variety of applications that require imagery with an accurate geolocation and cartographic projection. Optimal for simple and direct use of the imagery.
Queensland basemap colour web service - The Colour basemap is compiled from the Department of Resources foundation datasets which are maintained and updated periodically. The basemap also incorporates additional data where appropriate. The service uses a vector tiled map cache updated periodically and generated between the scales of 1:35 and 1:73,957,193. \r\n\r\nThe Queensland Government shall not be liable for technical or other errors or omissions. The user accepts all risks and responsibility for losses, damages, costs and other consequences resulting directly or indirectly from using this information. While every effort is made to show official place names gazetted under the Place Names Act 1994, this basemap may contain non-gazetted place names. The representation on this basemap of any road or track is not evidence of Public Right of Way. Trails may not be open at time of visit, confirm locally prior to access. People using private roads do so at their own risk. Owners' permission should be obtained. Nature Refuges are freehold land where the owner have entered into an agreement with the Queensland Government to commit to protect land with significant conservation value. Public access is not allowed, except with the permission of the owner. This map has been designed to replace the deprecated QldBase_Colour and QldBase_Lite raster tile basemaps.
