Brief description

This dataset presents the footprint of the rates of reported offences per 100,000 persons in Queensland, by month. The data is aggregated to Queensland Police Service (QPS) Divisions and spans the years January 2001 to August 2018.

Please note:

* AURIN has spatially enabled this data, using the [QPS Divisions](https://www.data.qld.gov.au/dataset/qps-divisions).

* Data is made available through a AURIN-QCIF-RIDL collaboration.

* Care should be taken when comparing monthly statistics. For example, January 2014 compared with February 2014. A more accurate comparison would be obtained by comparing a longer time series, for example, one calendar year to the next, as this will account for seasonal variations.
