Brief description
The project will focus on supporting the resilience of coastal vegetation at Puckey's Estate reserve in Wollongong. On-ground restoration works will be undertaken to regenerate degraded areas with the 20ha reserve to improve connectivity within the various vegetation communities and the estuary fringe in the reserve, including several Endangered Ecological Communities. Due to the nature of coastal development in Wollongong over the past 50 years, coastal and estuarine vegetation communities have become fragmented and more susceptible to edge effects. The invasion of these remnants by exotic species poses a severe threat to their environmental integrity.User Contributed Tags
