Full description
CSV files of location data (position estimates) for hammerhead sharks tagged with Wildlife Computers miniPAT archival tags and SPOT6 tags. Note that miniPAT data estimates may be up to 100 km (Kevin Lay, Wildlife computers pers comm). Location estimates from archival miniPAT tags also need to be considered against ARGOS location classes (see http://www.argos-system.org/manual/3-location/34_location_classes.htm). Collectively, movements are restricted within state waters with no hammerheads moving across state or International boundaries.Lineage
Great and scalloped hammerhead sharks tagged with Wildlife computers miniPAT and SPOT6 satellite tagsMiniPAT tag data have been processed using the Wildlife Computers GPE3 algorithm with a designated animal swimming speed of 0.7 m/s. SPOT6 data are precise location data and the MKZ files show exact location estimates for tagged animals.
File naming convention
SHH denotes scalloped hammerhead; GHH denotes great hammerhead, the six digit number is the tag number referenced in the tagged animal metadata.
Note that tagging data for miniPAT 163619 and 139075 are not included as there are unresolvable data errors with 163619, and 139075 died after tagging (this animal was tagged opportunistically by WA fisheries during a survey/observer trip)
