Prof Charles Watson is a neurobiologist and public health physician, and is currently a research fellow at the Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute (with Prof George Paxinos ) and Curtin University. Prof Watson has worked in both research and in public health, where his achievements in the latter include setting up the Quit campaign and establishing breast cancer screening in Western Australia. He is a co-author of The Rat Brain in Stereotaxic Coordinates with Prof George Paxinos. In 2004, Prof Watson was made a member of the Order of Australia for his work in brain research and public health. Prof Watson's current research focuses on gene expression in the development of the brainstem, mapping MR brain images, and primate cortex.
