Professor of Media, Macquarie University

Since completing my PhD thesis at Macquarie University in 1996, Bridget has been specialising in the history of the Australian media. After holding postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Sydney, she returned to Macquarie University in 2003. She is the author of four books about the Australian media, and she is now editing A Companion to the Australian Media, to be published in mid-2014. She is the Director of the Centre for Media History, established at Macquarie University in 2007, co-ordinate the Media Archives Project, and administer the Australian Media History database and listserv. She serves on the editorial boards of Media International Australia, Media History, the Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television, the Global Media Journal/Australian Edition and the NSW Working Party of the Australian Dictionary of Biography.
