It contains more than 15 million Australian physical address records. The records include geocodes, which are latitude and longitude map coordinates. Geoscape G-NAF is Australia’s authoritative, geocoded address file. It is built and maintained by [Geoscape Australia](https://geoscape.com.au/) using authoritative government data. G-NAF is one of the most ubiquitous and powerful spatial datasets. It contains more than 15 million Australian physical address records. The records include geocodes, which are latitude and longitude map coordinates. G-NAF does not contain personal information or details relating to individuals.

Updated versions of G-NAF are published on a quarterly basis.

Users have the option to download datasets with feature coordinates referencing either GDA94 or GDA2020 datums.

**Changes in the November 2024 release**

* Nationally, the Nov 2024 update of G-NAF shows a decrease of 39,230 addresses overall (-0.25%). The total number of addresses in G-NAF now stands at 15,659,449 of which 14,824,922 or 94.67% are principal.

* In the November 2024 release 84,200 addresses have been retired. The retired addresses are either historical addresses that have been replaced by other addresses or “infill” addresses.

* In the November 2024 release of G-NAF, there have been some changes to the localities in New South Wales and the Northern Territory.
