Full description
Core GC04 was collected from the southeastern side of the New Caledonian Basin. The upper 140cm of the core was used in this study and was composed of very fine yellow-brown coloured clay. The sediments are slightly laminated, indicative of a low energy deposition regime. The core also shows 'black specks' in different concentrations, which is indicative of the appearance of a darker, non-carbonate fraction.Lineage
