This study proposes to examine potential inconsistencies between the standards of protection afforded to workers under three pieces of workplace health and safety legislation in Queensland due to the application of risk management requirements. It is important to understand if the differences in nomenclature in the Acts are creating disparity in the protection requirements afforded to workers. If there are, this indicates there is a group, or groups, of workers who are not provided a high standard of risk management while at work or if there is no disparity then why are the terms not the same.
