Full description
On the third of March 2003, between 1730 and 1800 hours local time, at Mawson Station Antarctica, some damaged explosives were deliberately detonated in order to safely dispose of them. The explosives were disposed of in three blasts, not four as was originally planned.At the time of detonation, air temperature was -3 degrees celsius, and the wind was blowing at 9 knots. The explosives were detonated at the following location:
