Brief description
The 2020-21 Budget, including related papers such as the Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements (PAES), is officially available at http://www.budget.gov.au.The PAES inform Parliament of changes to the proposed allocation of resources since the 2020-21Budget.
The PAES, annual Appropriation Bills (Nos. 3 and 4) and Appropriation (Parliamentary Departments) Bill (No. 2) are tabled in Parliament usually in mid-February each year. The annual Appropriation Bills require that the Portfolio Budget Statements and PAES be taken into account when interpreting the appropriated items in the Schedules.
Not all portfolios may prepare a PAES, only those entities that are seeking additional funding for through Appropriation Bills (Nos. 3 and 4) and Appropriation (Parliamentary Departments) Bill (No. 2) are required to produce a PAES chapter. The PAES incorporate measures announced since the 2020-21 Budget, including those announced in the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO).
