Brief description This proposal will investigate how the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus causes life-threatening infections. We will identify that bacterial toxins kill immune cells by hijacking host factors. The study will determine alternative therapeutic options to prevent lethal infections with antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
