Full description

The Planning Directorate was one of three Directorates established as a result of the restructure of the Department of Main Roads in the year ended 30 June 1987. The other two directorates were Operations and Finance and Administration. The senior officers of the Directorate of Planning were:
Strategic Planner;
Chief, Policy and Economics;
Project Manager, Sydney Harbour Tunnel;
Chief Engineer, Design; and
Chief Engineer Bridges. The Chief Engineer, Design was responsible for
Traffic Management;
Traffic Control;
Road Design;
Project Assessment;
Environmental Planning; and
Architectural Design The Chief Engineer, Bridges was responsible for
Bridge and Structural Design
and Bridge and Structural Advice on works. (1) This Directorate appears to have continued until replaced by the Strategy Directorate of the Roads and Traffic Authority in the year ended 30 June 1989. Endnotes:
