Scientific Data manuscript submission&rft.identifier=10.25911/ksk2-c379&rft.publisher=The Australian National University&rft.description=Here we present a comprehensive revision of the phylogeny of Cenozoic planktonic foraminifera. It integrates stratigraphic ranges, morphological traits, and evolutionary relationships, resulting in an updated phylogenetic framework. The work expands the taxonomic coverage to include microperforate clades, adding 136 morphospecies and 29 new genera while removing 15 previously included species. Stratigraphic ranges have been calibrated to the latest Geologic Time Scale (GTS2020), providing a more accurate timeline for evolutionary events. The digital phylogeny visualisation using TimeScale Creator allows users to interact with these data, including morphospecies images and ecological information, facilitating further research into macroevolutionary processes. This resource provides a valuable platform for exploring biodiversity dynamics and species responses to environmental change throughout the Cenozoic and also serves as a framework for integrating fossil and molecular data.Comprehensive revision of the phylogeny of Cenozoic planktonic foraminifera&rft.creator=Dr Barry Fordham&rft.date=2025&rft_rights=Creative Commons Licence (CC BY) is assigned to this data. Here we present a comprehensive revision of the phylogeny of Cenozoic planktonic foraminifera. This resource provides a valuable platform for exploring biodiversity dynamics and species responses to environmental change throughout the Cenozoic and also serves as a framework for integrating fossil and molecular data.
