Brief description
Photos taken of a moss colony found on Carey Nunatak on January 15, 2017. The moss colony was discovered during a geodesy/gps survey of Carey Nunatak by Matt King, Billy Wallace and Tobias Staal. Sharon Robinson identified the moss colony as being of some importance. The moss was photographed by Tobbias Staal (AAS4318) working to install GPS and seismometers on the nunatak and collect geological samples. The GPS and seismometers are still in place so there will be repeat visits to the site in coming years. As well as photos of the moss, the download file contains photos of the general area and the geodesy/gps activities.Issued: 2017-05-23
