Full description
The project is concerned with the history of Radio Documentary internationally from the beginning of radio to the present. The project was commenced as a post doctoral fellowship at UNSW before being continued at Macquarie University under a New Staff Grant. The project focusses on what are considered the most significant documentary works and makers, with the goal of producing a book about the subject. The project draws on transcribed interviews from documentary broadcasting in Germany, Italy, France, UK, Australia (in particular the ABC), Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, with an emphasis on public broadcasting. It also studies oral history interviews, surveys, recordings, newspaper articles, catalogues of recordings, and other sources.
