By 1825 a Chief Constable had been appointed at Penrith. (1) By 1835 Penrith was one of the six police districts in the County of Cumberland. (2) In 1840 the boundaries of all Police Districts, including Penrith, were published including where they crossed county boundaries. (3)
In 2015 Penrith Police Station was also the Penrith Local Area Command Office in the North West Metropolitan Region. In 2015 its address was 317 High Street, Penrith.(4)
