Brief description
PacBio HiFi DNA sequencing reads of the leaf rust fungus Puccinia triticina for fully-phased, chromosome-scale genome assembly. High molecular DNA from urediniospores was extracted and PacBio HiFi reads were sequenced.Lineage: Rust infected samples from the leaf rust susceptible wheat cultivar Morocco were collected from the CSIRO field site in Canberra during November 2018. A Puccinia triticina (Pt) culture was purified through single pustule isolation and pathotyped using the standard wheat differential sets carrying unique resistance genes for leaf rust as described in the Cereal Rust Report, PBI. Based on the resistance response, the isolate belongs to 76-3,5,7,9,10,12,13 pathotype and was named Pt76.
