Statement: During the mission, photos were acquired in RAW format, leading to some caching issues on the sensor SD card, and some missing photographs. This resulted in some areas of the mission footprint only having 5 to 8 overlapping photographs, which is lower than preferred for structure from motion photogrammetry. The areas of the footprint where this occurred can be viewed in the PDF processing report.

Notes

Purpose
Project 5219: Denman Terrestrial Campaign Operational Support 2023-2025 undertook a number of activities to support scientific research in the region. Operational support activities included: • final site preparations for the EDB camp, including completing the preparations for tent sites, preparing helicopter landing areas, marking and clearing of paths within the camp area, placement of temporary infrastructure for communications and water storage, and possible minor drainage diversion. In addition, all accommodation and ancillary tents will be installed. • mobilisation and demobilisation of multiple satellite camps in various locations throughout the Bunger Hills and broader Denman glacier and ice shelf region • operation and management of the EDB field camp and satellite camps • wildlife surveys and management actions to avoid disturbance to nesting seabirds or seals during the preparation and operation of EDB and satellite field camps • demobilisation and remediation activities to visually return the EDB site and satellite field camps to their pre-disturbance states, and • evaluation of remediation efforts through an aerial RPA survey. This dataset forms part of the Australian Antarctic Division's commitment to establish the condition of the site, and to remediate the site at the end of the campaign period.
