This dataset includes 5517 women who had a singleton or multiple pregnancy and were recruited into the ORIP trial. The women were randomly assigned to receive daily fish-oil capsules containing 900mg of n−3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids or daily vegetable-oil capsules, commencing before 20 weeks of gestation and continuing to 34 weeks of gestation or delivery, whichever occurred first. Baseline clinical and sociodemographic characteristics of the participants were collected, along with a blood spot sample for fatty acid analysis at baseline and 34 weeks of gestation.
