This dataset includes 5517 women who had a singleton or multiple pregnancy, and less than 20 weeks' gestation were recruited in this trial. The women were randomly assigned, with the use of a Web-based randomization service, to receive either n−3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid capsules (n−3 group) or vegetable-oil capsules (control group). Baseline clinical and sociodemographic characteristics of the participants were assessed, and a blood spot sample for fatty acid analysis was collected at the end of the 34 weeks' gestation.
